Its easy to miss the focus of Perfect Love. Its easy to see it as something it isn’t or to devalue it to a point that we try to “understand it” rather than accept that it is Better, Bigger and more Amazing than we could imagine. But I have found that the Bigger I allow Perfect Love to Be – the Better my Life becomes and the Greater Amazement I have of Grace beyond human imagination.

There is so much in this life that is Not important and so many “things”, ideas, desires and imprinted prejudices from early ages that it truly is a wonder at times how our species has made it this far – but that too brings us back to The Perfect Love that holds it all together.

So how do we see and know the focus of Perfect Love? How do we stay on track with the idea of Perfect Love?

  1. See each other as “the image of God” who created us so we can share the Being of Love that He IS.  You don’t have to agree with me, worship like me, look like me, love like me or in any way be similar to me for me to Love you as long as I know that you too are “the image of God.”
  2. Focus on the “being” and not the “doing” of myself and others. When we hold onto shame and condemnation of ourselves we also put it on others. This is why Jesus came to “take away the sins of the world” and remove “condemnation” by “being” “the end of the law.”
  3. Allow for only one judge – The God Who Is Love – and help people see that mistakes are not fatal and even when feeling stuck in “unprofitable” ways – Perfect Love is right there with them – Healing them and Holding them.
  4. Rest in the understanding that Perfect Love took all the punishment and all the pain for all the sins both real and imagined that each and every one of us has committed. Give this thought and meditation to yourself as well as to others – “by His wounds we are healed!”

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
