Zeal or true purpose has the power to change the world to a greater extent than anything – this is why zeal was given to mortals. The challenge is to let zeal be based on Love as opposed to dogma. Zeal is the ultimate amplifier of what is inside a person and in that way it can be a rose or it can be the thorns.
“Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.” – Romans 10:1-2
Zeal is a tool and just like atomic power it can be used for good or it can be used for evil. Zeal based on knowledge is great, zeal based on self comfort, self satisfaction and ego will destroy lives.
Christ is the end of the law for All who believe – the trouble is the Israelites didn’t believe, nor do most Christians. Why is that and why do I so confidently say that?
1)The law that is comfortable gives a false sense of goodness – Not a Christ centered Righteousness. Just as the Jews would stone the woman caught in adultery, Christians today would condemn the homosexual.
2)The law creates good looks – Not good hearts like a Christ centered Righteousness creates. Christ said, “Love others as I have Loved you” and funny thing but He never once said, follow the law better. The Israelites based the whole societal structure on outer appearance – does this sound familiar?
3)The law creates reliance on effort and determination – Not Faith or Resting on what Christ “Finished” on the cross. Faith is Not the denomination or sect or religion you belong too – for the GraceFull Faith is Resting in what has already been done.
The law is good, it is a tool used very wonderfully by God but like all tools it can be used in the wrong way. Care to read more about the tool? “The law tool – 1” “The law tool – 3” “The law tool – 4” might help – all found only on:
