The BeLoved Book Practice

This is a spiritual practice that I hope and pray will help us grow to sense The Perfect Love that holds us and share love as best we can each day.

Divide a notebook into two parts – mine are “Received and Thankful” and “Given and Blessed”

“Received and Thankful” is where I write evidence of Perfect Love that I see throughout the day – this could be a tree that I stopped and really looked at, or a smile someone gave me, or a moment I took to think of someone in my life that makes me smile, or a moment in my life I thought of someone who was stretching my ability to love – All these things and moments are gifts and create Gratitude.

“Given and Blessed” is where I write two parts – one is how I demonstrated love today: I smiled at the store clerk or I told someone they had a great smile or I told someone I appreciated their attitude.

The second part is future tense – “Tomorrow I will …” buy a burger for that homeless man or share a smile and have a good day with the girl behind the counter at the coffee shop or tell a coworker that I like appreciate their positive outlook.

This practice helps to remind us of and keep us on track with our mission here which is to love all and judge no one. This is a long road and we are all learning so be kind to yourself in this process. The reason I use capital “L” is to show The Perfect Love that holds us and lower case “l” to show that we are not perfect lovers we are “growing lovers” – this is vital to understand and vital to recognize that this practice is Not to grow ego – Only awareness, gratitude and encouragement for The Love we can Rest in (have Faith in) for a life of “Peace that passes All understanding” – I pray this helps spread love, light and healing to all.

“whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
