When healing is needed, Love is what’s needed and we are the ones to give that love Here and Now. We therefore need to grow in our Love-ability.
Salt in the time of Christ had several purposes and all of them relate to our ability to Love All and judge no one.
1. Salt as wound cleaner – we need to be about the business of being one who helps heal wounds. As we help heal wounds or become a “peacemaker” we exemplify the what the life of Christ was about.
2. Salt as friendship symbol – in the time of Christ it was said that when you eat another’s salt you are friends for life. This is the connection we now have with Perfect Love. This is why the curtain in the temple was torn from bottom to top. We are forever connected with that which takes away All fear as we rest in it.
3. Salt as preserver – Perfect Love preserves our soul and keeps our spirit from decay in a world of challenges and difficulties. We can be this for others as we rest in the understanding that all things are working together for good.
4. Salt as a precious commodity – there was great value in salt during Biblical times. The greatest value that we bring to everyday life here and now is to continually remind all about the precious value that The One Who Is Perfect Love beyond human comprehension places on each and every one of us.
“Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.” … Mark 9:50
