There are many different types of knowledge but some will lead us into some very painful discoveries that will rob us of everything to include life itself. There are all kinds of things that look good on paper, sound good at first thought and seem like a good idea at the time, But later leave us standing alone, naked and exposed, scratching our heads and wondering what happened.
“When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” – Genesis 3:6-7
If you remember from “LOVE vs. goM – 3″ the idea was eat the fruit and gain wisdom about good and evil – sounds good, looked good on paper and after all the word “wisdom” is there so it must be good, right?
Many who follow God, follow Him in a way that prevents fellowship with Him because the focus is on “the good and evil” instead of His Perfect Love nature. Let me explain, many people believe that “good” in the rules we follow is Gods absolute accounting for “good” even though by the standard of rules or laws even Jesus said, “I am not good.” The interesting thing here is that in one of His best known parables He called a Samaritan “good” and everyone knew that didn’t follow the law. What I am trying to say here is this:
If following the law made us “good” then Jesus was a suicide! The law had, has and will always have a clear purpose, to bring us to righteousness by believing by Faith that Christ Alone makes us righteous by what He “Finished” on the cross!
If you want to be “good” when you stand before God naked, stand by Faith in Christ Alone!
