WHERE IS MY MIRACLE?
Does anyone know of any people that are 2000 + years old?
Is it possible that miracles are with us each and every moment but we fail to see them?
Is Jesus touched and concerned by our pain?
Is God just some non-caring Entity in the great beyond who doesnt care?
Please read John 11:32-37
Vs. 32″When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied.
35Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”
Is Lazarus still alive?
Does that mean that Jesus’s power was weak?
Mary knew and so did Martha that Jesus was Lord and they knew the power that he had and I am sure that as they saw and heard that Jesus was coming the thought that this old friend of the family was comforting. But both the sisters thought Jesus while still a great friend was too late in fact they were already mourning and weeping which is perfectly normal and I am sure many of us have done this same thing before.
Vs. 33 “When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.”
Did Jesus already know what was going to happen?
So why was He “moved in spirit and troubled?”
Could it be that when you cry He cries too?
Could it be that He shares your burden and pain each and every moment?
This is one of the few places where it is recorded that “Jesus wept.” To me that says that He hurts when His children hurt and even though it may not seem like it, He weeps when we weep. When you hurt that is the mental picture you need to get and perhaps that is why Lazarus death was useful, “for Gods glory” John 11:4.
Is Lazarus still alive on earth? No unless I missed some amazing story Lazarus in some tabloid I am pretty sure He and Jesus are sitting around and enjoying some amazing wine right now.
Yes it was a miracle that He was raised from the dead and eventually Lazarus gave up this earthly frame once and for all but the miracle for Mary and Martha was in each and every moment they had with their brother after his resurrection!
I dont normally do this but let me give you a personal example. I have a dog and he is an amazing dog and I really love him. His name is Yogi and right now he is battling for his life. Death is very hard for me and since a young age I have constantly lost so many family and friends and brothers. I am struggling with letting go and in fact the Vet thought Yogi would be gone three days ago- but he wasnt. In fact I spent 15 extra minutes with him just this morning.
My point is this each and every moment we breathe and we share and we love- IS a MIRACLE! Each and every moment I get to spend with Yogi now IS a Miracle.
What if we saw our loved ones and those we care about and each and every moment we get to have with them as a MIRACLE?
Do you think that might transform some of the anger and stupid arguments we have with them?
What if we saw Being with HIV patients and sharing Thanksgiving with homeless as a MIRACLE?
Would that radically alter some lives and some spiritual states?
