What did Jesus teach us about our relationships to each other?
How does His life show us a healthy society?
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!” – Philippians 2:5-7
What Would Jesus Do?
He would serve! He would Love! He would sacrifice for others even sacrifice His very life on a cross for those who hated Him!
I have yet to find a place where it says Jesus would obey all the laws.
Why?
Because with the “new covenant” the thing that makes Jesus righteous and you and me righteous if we believe in Him isn’t the law- its Love!
This is the way God set up things from the beginning. God didn’t change and neither did His law- what changed was our relationship to Him through Jesus- the one perfect sacrifice.
If you want to be like Jesus, if you choose Jesus and want to follow Him then accept Him as personal Lord and Savior and Love like there is no tomorrow. The guilt and shame will be taken by Him as you give it to Him. He will open doors for you to heal and by serving others see them heal.
Here is a meditation for you. Find a time and a place where you probably wont be disturbed but if you are it is Gods way of giving you an opportunity to grow. Take several deep cleansing breaths and with every exhale feel God take away the stress and pain. As you get relaxed and begin to breathe normally begin to get a picture of Jesus as a servant washing feet and talking to those in need. See him serving food perhaps- He is after all the bread of life. But see Him serving. As you get this picture:
Breathe in and say:
“Lord teach me”
Breathe out and say:
“To serve”
Practice like this until you begin to see Jesus not as the ultimate law keeper but as the ultimate Lover!
Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
