Will a prostitute enter the kingdom of God before you?
Ever wonder why Jesus spent so much time with those so looked down on by society?
Could it be that the prostitutes in your city are closer to God than many church members?
This will not be an easy read for some but then true spirituality involves killing the ego and nothing kills the ego more than to think what you are doing is NOT what God wants.
“Truly I tell you that tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead or you.” – Matthew 21:31
Who did Jesus say this to?
He said it to the religious leaders of the day. Yes that is right the very people who filled church or temples I should say each and every worship session.
Why?
“What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard,’ ‘I will not,’ he answered but later he changed his mind and went.
Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will Sir’ but he did not go.
Which of these two did what the father wanted?” – Matthew 21:28-32
Could it be that the son who learned and thought and decided to go and do the will of the father was the prostitute and the one who said ‘I will Sir’ and never went was the religious leader?
Could it be that a prostitute and a person who is very religious and in church week after week are both children of God?
Here is a fun challenge for you and I would love to hear the results. Would anyone be willing to go and ask a prostitute in your town if they would like to go to church with you?
Would they feel welcome there? If not why?
It was not the son who said he would and never did that pleased God. It was the son who realized he needed to go and Love those who feel unworthy that pleased God. It was the son who learned and grew and got off his comfortable backside even after telling his Father, “No.”
Please go and Love some one to Life today- The vineyard desperatly needs YOU!
