What is the purpose of life?
Why do we exist?
Please read Philippians 3:10-11
Vs.10 “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.”
God is in the business of chipping away at that in us that doesn’t Love others. God is Love and He wants a relationship with us and as such He is chipping away on that in us which is not Love.
Does that mean that at time we will feel betrayed, rejected and left out?
Jesus did when He was on the cross so why shouldn’t we?
Does God is Love mean that we will never face hardships?
If God is Love and He really Loves you it means that you will face even more hardships to chip away at that which is not Love inside you.
To want to know Christ and to want to know His resurrection is to want to know Love and to want to know how to share that Love.
The problem today is that many and in fact most think that a relationship with Christ and growing to know Him means doing more law- the more law you do the more righteous you are type thing.
But if this was the case why didn’t this passage and others say that the more we obey the law the closer we will be to Him?
So what does this look like- what if what ever happened and each and every moment in your life was created to cause you to learn more about Loving others and to chip away that which doesn’t need to be there.
Obviously the biggies like racism would be ground down. But also misbeliefs like: God doesn’t know everything in advance and pet laws that we cling to for righteousness would also be exposed.
Maybe this is why older people – older people who have not let bitterness plant root in their life but instead have had a spiritual life seem more focused on the simple things and love for others.
Remember Christ resurrection, sufferings and death were All about Love! Let His Love flow through you and see what brilliant beauty He can bring to the world through you.
