Who is doing the work?
Who has the wisdom?
Who do you proclaim?
Please read Colossians 1:28-29
Vs. 28 “He is the One we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.”
Being under the law does not now or ever allow you to fully mature in Christ.
Why?
Because you are doing the work, you are the one having the wisdom and you are the one proclaimed.
This is why I tell people that only the Grace of God can ever allow you to be fully mature, putting away the elementary teachings of law and acts which lead to repentance. If you have accepted Christ- you repented and now move on to maturity.
Proclaiming Christ is simple- Proclaim that there is a Love from Above that is far beyond anything that any human could ever offer you. When we proclaim Him we are saying that He will forgive and cleanse a person- Completely!
Proclaiming self is easy to spot- never feeling spiritually at ease and loved they continue to work to make themselves more pure. As a result the self-proclaimed religious person looks good or makes every effort to look good and on a typical day will cause others to stumble because the person who sees them either thinks they could never be that good or they look and see a self-congratulated, self-righteous and judgmental person who isn’t real.
Please find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and take several deep breaths and just feel the stress of a performance based relationship to Christ leave you. Now begin to breathe normally and as best you can relax your body all those points of stress you feel in your back, neck, jaw and face. Now just follow the breath as best you can and:
Breathe in and say:
“God do Your”
Breathe out and say:
“work of Love in me”
Practice this until you understand it’s not by your effort that you mature in Christ but by His energy and wisdom.
