Is it possible to be right and wrong at the same time?
How can you spot Love over a cheap imitation?
Please read 1 Kings 3:16-28
One thing I have learned is that learning lessons of Love is usually not easy but it is absolutely impossible if your eyes are closed. Our eyes can easily be closed or at the very least blurred when a loved one is involved.
Vs. 23 “The king said, ‘This one says, ‘My son is alive and yours dead,’ while the other says, ‘No! Your son is dead and mine is alive.’
Then the king said, ‘Bring me a sword.’ So they brought a sword for the king. He then gave an order: ‘Cut the child in two and give half to one and half to the other.”
When given the option between being half right and ALL LOVE my suggestion would be choose LOVE!
True Love in this situation did what?
What did ego and arrogance do and say?
There is a cheap knock off love based on ego and pride which knowingly or unknowingly gives birth to more pain in the world. This fake love is often masked by what looks like real love and it is easy to see God’s wisdom flowing through Solomon here.
Here is a simple Love test- questions to ask nest time you wonder if something is being done in Love or fake love:
1) Is it more important to prove rightness or show Love?
2) Does this decision or event stroke anyone’s ego?
3) Who or what will benefit from this one way or the other?
4) Will the outcome spread Love or build ego?
In this case true Love said save life but false love only wanted to produce pain.
Could this be “satan himself masquerading as an angel”?
Please keep in mind I am certainly not saying that this is an area that I have perfected – what I am saying is that this is true spiritual growth and this is the true path to a Godly life!
