What is detestable to God?

How are you justified?

Please read Luke 16:15

Vs. 15 “He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.”

If you are justifying yourself in the eyes of others you are anti-Christ. If that sounds anti-religious – it is. If that sounds spiritually healthy and healing – it is!

There is no place to hide from God who knows the hearts and as the old T-shirt says, you can run but you will only die tired.

God is not about what people value highly. The whole idea of hierarchy of works and efforts is in fact anti-Christ and this passage clearly states it. You cannot now, or will you ever be able to justify yourself and yet so many people do try just that.

The Good News of the Gospel of Christ can be summed up in this, “Rest and have Peace cause I Am the Holy Lamb of God sent for sinners so that All who believe Will be Freely Justified!”

All that stuff you are doing and have done to try to prove something, is detestable to God and for a very simple reason- it diminishes Christ work on the cross. It’s like you walked up to Christ, slapped Him in the face and said, “I am good enough.”

By the same token- that guilt and shame you carry around and won’t leave at His feet, it’s like walking up and slapping Jesus in the face and saying, “Your sacrifice wasn’t enough.”

Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and start by taking several deep breaths. With every exhale see God taking your stress just a little bit more and begin to really relax your face and jaw muscles. See if you can feel a spot of tension in your body and try to relax that spot without too much effort. Begin to breathe normally and:

Breathe in and say:

Christ alone

Breathe out and say:

Justifies me

Do this until you no longer seek justification from men but instead the Only source for true justification- Jesus!

Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
