The stick of Love!

How big is the stick that brings you Love?

Is it used for punishment today or healing?

He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.” – Matthew 27:42

In Korea the teachers use a “stick of love” to help the students remember some things. Is that how small your god is?

We have a choice with God to believe in an amazing gift that has never before been offered and it never will be offered again. That gift all has to do with the size of the stick that carries His Love to you.

The cross where Jesus died was also a stick- a very big one because it carried all our sins, pain and anguish on it- do you accept that stick or the one that keeps beating you over the head?

To all who believed He gave eternal life- Yes it really is that easy!

Two sticks- one brings guilt, pain, shame and bitterness with some form of godliness.

The other one- the really large one is where everything was paid in full, the one Jesus hung on even while others were so close to the truth by saying, “He saved othersis still a stumbling block for so many because that kind of Love is outside of what we can comprehend.

Are you close but still have the stick hitting you over the head? You are not alone- many who have that stick fill church pews and as soon as they leave them they do things that cause the stick they follow to beat them. It’s a never ending cycle- but it doesn’t have to be!

If you are waiting for Jesus to come down from the cross perhaps He is waiting for you to let Him come down!

Here is a meditation for you today. Find a time when you probably won’t be disturbed and start taking several deep breaths and as you do surrender your stress to Him. Each time you exhale just give it to Him. Relax as best you can and close your eyes and begin to get a picture of Jesus hanging on the cross, beaten, bloody and almost dead. Go near to Him and as you do see Him look at you with Love in His eyes and look straight at you. As He does you beg Him to save Himself and you know He can- but He just looks at you with Love, smiles and says “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” As you get this picture:

Breathe in and say:

God I believe in Your

Breathe out and say:

Love for me

Practice this until you understand that you were healed by His stripes and His wounds paid for your guilt and shame.

Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
