What do we learn from Grace?
What is ungodliness and worldly passions?
“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” – Titus 2:11-14
The law is a stone but Love is a path- both have very necessary jobs to perform on a spiritual journey.
One is a starting point and the other is a light house. One brings the evidence of a need something bigger than us. The other shows us how to Love like He did and how to see the need of the other before seeking only our desires.
One will cause you to continue to beat your head against a wall in your own effort. The other lights the way because He redeemed that person and purified them.
What is ungodliness? God is Love so to put it another way ungodliness is un-lovingness.
What are worldly passions? Its putting our desires above the needs of others, namely Love.
Since we already had the law why did we need Grace to teach us about ungodliness and worldly passions?
The law never made anything perfect- it was never designed for that. Only Christ did that- by His stripes we are healed! The law never healed anything it was never created to heal or redeem or purify- ONLY Jesus does that!
The law teaches our need once we see the need Grace teaches us Love and Hope and Peace that passes All understanding. Loves lessons come from Being, Here Now with Christ and listening to the gentle voice of Love From Above!
Let Love shine through and be still sometime today and just listen to the voice of Love that He is giving you. You really are made in His image and He really does Love you unconditionally!
