How can you impress God?
What does the Lord require of you?
“Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6:7-8
Until you realize that there is absolutely nothing you can “do” to please God- You will not have Peace in your soul! Not true lasting Peace that passes all understanding.
There was One perfect sacrifice and everything else is just a temporary, feel good, piece of fluff.
So how do you impress God? What does God require of you after you accept Christ?
1) “To act justly”- Don’t hurt others- Love them and share what you have with people in need! Don’t pass up the opportunity to help someone who has been hurt or who needs help – this is acting justly!
2) “Love Mercy”- So desperately needed in the world today and so often not seen. Mercy is a sense of compassion and forgiveness that can heal not only the people immediately involved in some situation but it can reverberate for generations to come. Just look at what the mercy from Jesus is still doing today!
3) “Walk humbly with your God”- One thing to always remember is where your strength comes from and Who it is that gives you the power and courage you need. Also remember the Love and the gift He freely shares with All who believe! Yes having a relationship with God is amazing- never become arrogant or pretend that you have anything that He doesn’t supply.
Love others in this moment and on this day- because that’s all you have!
Forgive all and give Love freely- as that is what Christ did!
Walk with Almighty God and rest in His Grace and Truth- because that is the only source that will never run out and will give you the wisdom and ability to Love and Forgive!
