What is the weapon you fight with?
What is the goal of the battle?
How do we fight for Jesus?
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
The world has an overwhelming need to prove itself and to thump its chest and be right to all those around. The world seeks to be first and to be on top and to be noticed as being “it.”
But Love fights differently. Love is patient, Love is kind, never jealous and free of pride. Love is our “weapon” as only Love has “divine power to demolish strongholds.” Only Love will demolish arguments and only Love can we all agree on.
By making every thought obedient to Christ we are implementing exactly what He said, “Love one another.” I have nothing to prove and no “ax to grind” just three words and that is all that needs to be said, “God Is Love!”
If our eyes are on Loving the other instead of converting the other we:
1) Don’t have to change them- That is God’s job!
2) Can have peace right here- Nothing to prove!
3) Can build a sense of shared journey- No one is superior or inferior!
This is the path to “demolish strongholds, demolish arguments and every pretension.”
Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and take several deep breaths. With every exhale try to release the stress you have in your body. Having to be right is a huge stressor and just let it all be at peace. As you go back to breathing normally just feel your breath go in and out and:
Breathe in and say:
“God let me Love”
Breathe out and say:
Practice this until you realize that Jesus didn’t change the world by shouting and having something to prove- He changed it by Loving!
Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
