What does the work?
What is the goal?
“When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.” – Acts 11:23-24
To “remain true to the Lord” is a matter of Grace NOT law!
This is what the early church leaders knew, it’s what set Christianity apart from a religion and still does!
Remember the Jews were at this time the most legalistic people on earth and many today would say that some sects of Jews still are – so what was different about this new belief called “The Way” that was written about in this passage?
It was, is and always will be ALL about His Grace and Love – NOT our effort and the law! It was, is and always will be about Being “full of the Holy Spirit and faith” which is Not based on our effort but based on our ability to rest in His Ability and in His finished work!
Being “full of the Holy Spirit and faith” is Not something that you work toward or obey law to get to – it is a growing knowledge that Nothing that you have done, will do or ever could do matters – it’s All about Jesus and what He has done and His Amazing Love for you! To remain true to this is a challenge because the devil wants you to think that you “should” “do” “more” or perform or act like this or that – this is his main tool for enslavement and the focus of religion!
Notice in the passage above the “Grace” did the work and the growth was measured Not in laws obeyed but in Faith that was firmly established in a “good man” – Care to start growing that kind of Faith?
My journey away from religion and toward Peace and Rest Here and Now started with a few simple questions answered from the heart and not the head at the link below:
I hope this helps and I pray that you will be open minded enough to see that His Grace really IS sufficient for you!
