What is temporary?
What will change?
How does this affect our spiritual life?
Please read Mark 13:1-2
Vs. 1 “Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!” “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
Everything is constantly changing. It was designed this way for one very simple reason- to keep us grounded on the only ground that doesn’t change- God’s Love!
I have found at times for me when I am going through a difficult time it was simply because God was reminding me that only one thing last.
Will there be end times? Yes it probably will but what they will look like and when they will come aren’t even on my top ten list for a very simple reason- Everything changes!
The end times are happening each and every day in one way or another- people come into and out of our lives and leave, money is made and lost, things come and go but Gods Love for you will never change- that is THE resting place that I can come back to time and again.
Here is the key- If we are looking for permanence in Anything other than Him- we will suffer and it will continue until we see that nothing is permanent. Why?
Because this takes our heart of being right here, right now which is where God has people for us to Love and lessons for us to see.
Here is a little thing I do when I find myself living in the future or the past and having pain because of it:
Close your eyes and take several deep breaths and as you do begin to get a picture of you being held by Jesus and just rocked in His lap. See His nail scared hands and sense His arms underneath you that are big and strong and will never let you down. As you get this picture begin to rock back and forth and hear Jesus say:
“I Love you” “You are Loved by God Almighty” “You are cared for” “I am always here for you and I will never leave you or forsake you” “Storms will come but I will keep holding you” “The kingdom of God is within you” “Have faith and let everything else go”
You can make up similar words but just keep rocking back and forth and let the tears flow until the joy shows- and know that this place that you are at with Jesus at this point is always here for you.
Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
