Can you hate yourself and love God?
“Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” – 2 Corinthians 3:4-6
The reason why most people struggle with the Grace of God is that they never realize the complete and utter and unfathomable Love that God has for them! Just the beginning of that realization will radically alter their soul by changing forever the way they relate to God!
This passage clearly says, “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves” – in short this means that the law and our effort to keep it and all our “doings” don’t give us the confidence that we now stand in – why is that?
Jesus Christ!
The confidence that we have is in One Being alone and what He did for us-
Jesus Christ and His death on the cross!
So where do people struggle with their confidence before God? Why do people still wrestle with love for themselves and therefore they can’t have confidence in Him?
Simply put most people are still fed the law! Most people are still told that they have to obey the law and jump through hoops and do this and don’t do that in order to please God!
Jesus Christ!- You will never have confidence before God unless your confidence is not in what you do or don’t do! The letter kills but the Spirit gives life and life more abundantly than you can ever imagine!
