The Great Christmas Scandal – 5
10 “For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” – Romans 5:10-11
The blood stopped with Christ! The payment was marked, “Paid in Full” the work was finished and you and I were made a part of God without any need for anymore sacrifice!
Now for The Scandal part. While most religious christians teach the above you will also hear things like:
“But if you Really love God and you were converted you will no longer desire certain things…”
Or
“However we all know that we should try our best…”
“You are no longer under the law, you are under Grace” – Romans 6:14
What does this mean, to be under Grace? FREEDOM from the law is the starting point. I know the inner Pharisee in most is screaming out right now, “but what about ‘don’t use Grace as an excuse to sin?”
Once The Scandal broke that started in the manger and spilt the last blood needed for forgiveness, sin changed! Sin for those under the law Is breaking the law, but sin for those who “Believe” is simply not acting in a Loving way, putting ourselves before another and not being His light of Love! The sin I commit and grow from is the “sin” of learning to Love more like He did – Living Grace Is Living Love Lessons – I hope you will join the journey if you haven’t already!
Below is the link to my starting point and my earnest Hope and prayer is that it might help you in your journey as it helped me in mine:
