The cancer patient had become good friends with his atheist doctor even enjoying some occasional outings. The doctor came to give the patient some very bad news about the aggressiveness of the cancer and after breaking the news asked the patient this question, “when was the last time you saw the goodness of this god you believe in?” The patient without a pause said, “Didn’t you see it my friend?”, “What?” the doctor replied, “The breath I am breathing right now, the smile on your face when you saw me, the bird in the tree outside, its everywhere IF you want to see it.”
Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”’ – Exodus 15:22-24
3 days! Just 3 days after God Almighty had parted the Red Sea, allowed the children of Israel to walk across on dry land and destroyed their enemies – they started to grumble!
We were made to Run to what is comfortable! We were made to Run to what looks right, feels right, smells right and therefore must be right! This is why the law is so very comfortable!
The law gives people a measuring stick for righteousness that has NOTHING to do with righteousness ever since Jesus, but the law is what we can see, feel, smell and think is right!
The law creates the Wrong resting place! God knew it from the beginning, just like He knew the people didn’t need a king but He allowed them to have one and then used the kings of Israel in their humaness to teach us so incredibly valuable lessons!
Faith MUST be based on what you can’t see, otherwise it’s Not Faith! Grace is His Free gift and what you are believing and trusting in is that Jesus made you righteous in the nanosecond that you accepted Him! This is why I say law is “me dependence, Grace Is Christ dependence!
The pain will continue until the lesson is learned!
