Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela and Jesus were all together watching a beautiful sunset on a beach in the Philippines when they saw several slaves go by to which Mr. Mandela said, “Slavery is a terrible thing!” All agreed but
“Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.” Luke 12:22-23
Jesus knew and knows the value of things in an eternal light that we will never grasp until we stand in His presence face to Face with The God Who Is Eternal Love from Above and controls All things!
Let the above statement simmer in your soul for a while, Please!
The reason I ask you to let it simmer is that this is one of, if not the single biggest witness to legalistic thinking as opposed to Grace-Full Indwelling of Jesus! How is that true? Because with legalism you are focused on the outward and the appearance of things but with Grace you understand Who the Father Is, that He controls ALL things and that this moment IS perfectly where He wants you to Be!
“But what about free will?” Did God know about your choice before you made it? Is your free will bigger than Gods knowledge or ability? Only if you follow the law for “some form of righteousness” is your free will bigger than Gods knowledge!
Jesus was confusing and ever confounding because He taught that The Kingdom was Not about “do this and don’t do that” – It was, Is and Always Will Be about LOVE! In LOVE there Is No worry or fear because you get that God Is Love and because He Loves you so much, you are perfect right Here and Now just as you are! You were made the Exact way He wanted you to Be made and once you focus on LOVE over law you will Be following the rest of Luke 12:
“But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12:31-34
Jesus agreed with Mandela but a far greater slavery exist than that of the physical, this slavery is a slavery of the soul that Only a Relationship of “by Grace through Faith” can Free you from the shackles of – care to know more?
