Will the real Jesus please stand up? This is a question that is on the worlds mind now and it was during the time of Christ as well, so let’s examine just who was Jesus. Why was there so much confusion then and now on who He was and how is this confusion Grace-Full!
“At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill? Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah? But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.” – John 7:25-27
I have found in my life that the greater the expectations I place on someone or something, the less I am able to have Peace in the present moment and enjoy the company of or the moment of whatever is happening.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ – which I call the Gospel of Grace – is The Gospel of low expectations!
And yet – most people Never understand this and as a result legalistic guilt, shame and grief ensue!
Jesus has never been fully understood – not even by His closest disciples who walked around the desert with Him for 3 years – so why do people think they “know” Him now and that Only the way they see Him is correct?
Great comfort is found in human ignorance – just ask the passengers who boarded the Titanic but ask them BEFORE they hit the iceberg!
The purpose of this series of devotionals is to look at Jesus – Who He was, Why He was, What He Finished and Why He Really IS All that and a bag of chips as my Aussie friends might say!
