What is a temptation for a Grace-Full person?
What got Jesus on the cross and made Him stay there?
Is there a model in His action?
“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’” – Matthew 6:13
We are saved by Grace (Ephesians 2:8-9) and that is so very important because the more we try to “do” something for God the less God can do in us and through us.
With that said what is it that God wants to complete in us?
We are a “new creation” and “All things” became new right? (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Now the focus becomes one of Love not law. The Love that He puts in you and flows through you is something no one fully understands on this side of eternity. It made a man march off to die a horrible death for his enemies- that’s not something that is done by human power.
Where we get off track with His Love is where we start to see our own pleasure as more important than allowing Him to “Be” Love through us. This is where the “evil one” is constantly trying to work. Arguments based on rightness and wrongness, politics, addictions, end times, pain alleviators of so many kinds – all these take our eyes of the only fact that can heal the world – “GOD IS LOVE!!”
What kept Jesus on the cross and the only element of me that has any lasting value are both summed up in one word – LOVE!! I know the pull is strong but please focus on Love and ask God to help you focus on that.
Here is a contemplative prayer to keep in your thoughts and going through your mind today as often as God brings it to mind. Write this and post it in a place where you will see it often, bring it to mind and say it quietly as a meditation as often as you think of it today:
“God this moment and this day please keep my focus on LOVE!”
Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
