Why wasn’t Jesus clear in what He said?

Please read John 2:17-19

Vs. 17 “His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.” The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

What did Jesus mean in this statement? “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

In hindsight there is 20/20 vision and as such we know that Christ was talking about a new kind of temple that is in the heart and soul of the believer because that is where Christ resides and where His Grace lives.

Does this make sense?

Nope- not a bit! Not to the religious mind and certainly not to the scientific mind or the mind that has to have everything proven.

Does this make Faith?

ABSOLUTELY!! Did anyone have any idea when they laid the body of Jesus in the ground that in three days He would rise? Did anyone know what He was talking about when He said this? Most of the people were more than a little surprised!

My point is this you need to listen in Faith and accept in Faith that you nor I nor anyone else has all the answers on who God is and what He is about!

If you are listening with your ear on your anus – you have to have all the answers and God is exactly what you think He is and there is no question! If you are listening with spiritual ears the journey doesnt end till you pass over!

God is not in the answer He Is in the question! There are only three words I know for sure and everything else is accepted in Faith – God Is Love!

Now for the fun part – Search with All your heart! Knowing God is a journey and the more answers you have the less you journey for a very simple reason- why do you have to have Faith in something you already know with no doubt to be true?

Your journey is just that – your journey but I believe with all my heart a journey to the knowledge of God will bring you back to three irrefutable words – God Is Love!

Here are some resources for your journey that have been helpful to me and I hope they are for you as well:

A Bible study initially compiled by Joe Quillin that started my journey:

Some wonderful books for your journey:

“The Ragamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning

“The Importance of Being Foolish” by Brennan Manning

“Fall To Grace” by Jay Bakker

“Tie Dye Devotions” on Kindle by Bob Hildreth

Several books on Kindle by Gary Martin – “Devotional Catalyst” and “Across the Great Divide”

The main thing to keep in mind in your journey outside of “God Is Love” is simply this – “You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free” – if what you are following is not making you more Free – is it Truth?
