Spirit Living – dishonest loving, the death of spirit
There is a danger to Perfect Love that most fall into and that is dishonest love. This dishonest love has many faces but in the end the outcome is always the same, a broken, lost and hurt being and that is a Great place to be. I will explain why that’s a great place to be in the next episode of Spirit Living called “Loves Results!”
“For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways,as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them. ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say,‘and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?’ “Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers.” – Isaiah 58:2-3
So what does dishonest love look like:
1)Religious houses full of properly dressed people acting properly according to others, their society and the comfort laws that they follow all while those who are not proper are made to feel small, worth-less and improper.
2)Religious people trying hard to maintain a mask because the moment it slips their shame, guilt and condemnation is assured by the “proper” group. The amount of effort one has to maintain to perform this task is mind boggling and is a great victory for satan who wants dishonest lovers to wear the name of Jesus and be in pain.
3)Religious society that is totally unequal, full of social injustice and disingenuous about any real help or change. Charity and compassion are done for the show in this culture of dishonest love and like one nation of dishonest lovers currently they have the worlds largest church And the worlds highest suicide rate at the same time!
Is it any wonder that people think religion is foolishness? BUT this is where The God Who Is Love beyond human explanation comes in:
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” Isaiah 58:6-7
