“When love has an agenda it is no longer love.” – a wonderful quote but a brilliant writer.
If we love to convert others – we aren’t loving them we are manipulating them – yes even if our group thinks it has all the answers.
Why didn’t Jesus want a temple built? Why didn’t He just come down off the cross or stay after His resurrection? Maybe there is a journey that we need to make.
It is so very easy for us to miss Love. In a world full of distractions is is so easy to focus on “rightness” and getting others to think like us. It happens subtle and so very often to me – this I find is a constant battle. The voices sound like this:
religious – “We must show these people the way that we know is right so that they can have what we have, this community will help them.” “If we love them they will think like we do.” “If we love them then they will come and be a part of our group and we will grow bigger and have more members and ….”
Grace – “Just Love one another as I have Loved you.”
