Darkness or Light- a simple test!
Are you a “sin jumper and thumper” or a Lover?
Please read 1 John 2:9-11
Vs. 9 “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.”
There are times when something is pretty much boiled down to the bare bones essential message and this is one of them.
The Good News of the gospel is this:
If anyone is preaching hate toward others they are not of God!
Vs. 10 “Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.”
Would you like to not stumble? Would you like to have an “easy burden and a light yoke?” Here is a real simple answer LOVE!!
Yes I know it’s not as sexy and cool as yelling and screaming against this or that but it IS the only way to bring Heaven on earth!
Vs. 11 “But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.”
Have you ever met someone or are you someone that chases sin?
I know this sounds strange but I know many who would rather preach and yell against sin than Love others. Preaching against something out there that is all terrible and horrendous and big and bad- instead of Loving Others! These people jump from one “sin” to the next because it gives them a cause when the only cause Jesus ever called us to is “Love God and Love others!”
These people don’t know where they are going because they miss one simple truth- NO ONE was ever called to “convert” others- Only Love them and explain about a Love that will never end and you can never be separated from- God’s Love!
