Is it “new” or old?

In learning Grace it is Very important to understand why Jesus Had to be killed by the religious powers of that day. He was a threat of Biblical proportions (pardon the pun) because He pushed Freedom from the law.

“He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.” … Matthew 13:52

“And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.” … Mark 2:22

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! … 2 Corinthians 5:17

“You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.” … Galatians 3:1

“If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God” … 1 John 3:20-21

Keep in mind that all the above was said, stated and taught to Jews who followed the law you were taught in church last Sunday better than you or I ever could or will.
