Do you need strength?
Do you fear?
Are you unsure of where your strength comes from?
Please read Isaiah 30:15- 18
“In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength” vs.15
Is it possible that God even in the Old Testament was trying to say that His Grace was all you need?
To repent means to change from one direction and start going in a different one. Could this mean that I start Loving others and no longer think only of myself and my own pleasure?
I can tell you this from my own life when I started learning about Grace even though I was a leader in a church I didnt have any rest and my focus was on doing the law instead of Loving others which caused no quietness at all. In fact I can say with a certain amount of authority that the fear factor I had when I was under law was off the charts and why wouldnt it be? After all if we are still under the law we know we will fail its built into the law to make us fail so we will need His help.
If you try to be holy any other way other than Grace you will face fear as you will be obligated to follow the whole Law not just the ones you like. If you are trying to be righteous your life will be like this:
“Therefore you will flee!
You said “we will ride off on swift horses.”
Therefore your pursuers will be swift!
A thousand will flee at the threat of one.” vs.16
Are you tired yet? Are you ready to be Holy as He is Holy?
“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore He will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait on Him!” vs.18
You dont have to be afraid and weak any longer. Jesus paid it all and His Grace is all you need. Even in the Old Testament the power of His Love and the plan of His one perfect sacrifice was working so that you can be reconciled (put back with or made right with God) and not by the law which is a shadow of things but by His one perfect sacrifice to never have to fear your pursuers of guilt and shame again. He will give you rest from the religious treadmill of right and wrong you are on. He will in quietness and trust give you strength you never imagined.
