As a species we have forgotten what’s important and as a result we feel that What is important has forgotten us.
The Great News is The What and The Who that is All that matters has not only Not forgotten us but They are holding us together and if we let them they will Heal us!
“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” – John 15:4
Three times in this passage Jesus encourages us to “remain” in Him. When I was a legalistic christian this meant keeping the law better and tithing more. As I grow in Grace I see that this old idea is not only false but also harmful to my relationship to God, others and myself.
On my Journey of Grace remaining in Christ has come to mean:
1)An ongoing growth in Love – love for others, compassion, listening without judgement. This usually happens as we have people in our life that help us to overcome our unlove-ability.
2)An ongoing growth of Peace – The One Who Loves me beyond All possible human comprehension has me Here and Now and He controls All things.
3)An ongoing growth of Faith – Resting in the knowledge that All is Finished and All is Right between God and I – Resting in the Faith based knowledge that He is causing All things to work for my good.
Remaining in Him has become not something that I do – but rather a state of understanding and growing awareness of His Goodness and Love for me!
