To the vast majority of humanity to include religious Christians the Christmas story is a quaint, nice story that makes a great backdrop for a Jimmy Stewart movie. But let’s take a look at the Power of that camel feeder for a moment. Just for a second let’s stop and examine why many don’t have the Power that was given that night among the animal feed, animal dung and blood in that little shed!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:1-3
“I have hidden your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11
Faith is resting in Who He Is, What He Did and who you Are in Him! Its invisible, you just have to Trust Him at His Word that He Now lives inside you!
Who He Is – He Is The One Who made All things! He Is The One Who made All things and declared them “Good!” He Is The One Who has been with God since before time began and through Him All things were made and without Him Nothing was made! He Is God! He Is The Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and The End! He Is The One Who parted the Red Sea, provided food for His children in the middle of a hellacious desert, opened a rock to provide water for them and provided them a homeland in the midst of enemies of such overwhelming odds the only terms we could use the enemies are of “Biblical proportions!” He saved Daniel from the lion’s den, countless prophets from certain death and didn’t even break a sweat through any of this!
What He Did – He Restored you to Adam and Eve status! He Redeemed you! He Reconciled you! He Justified you! He Sanctified you! He Cleansed you and made you Holy as He is Holy before the Thrown of Grace, God Almighty and what He has done can NOT Ever be undone! In case you missed it what “He Did” is past tense because Christ IS The End of the law for All who believe! Nothing can Ever snatch you out of His hand of Love and Mercy and Grace and in that hand you can rest like a child because that is Exactly what you are and where you are and the knowledge of this creates Peace beyond All understanding!
Who you are in Him – You are His child! A child of The King of Kings and Lord of All Lords past, present and future! You are Holy in the sight of God Almighty, pure as the new driven snow! You are Loved beyond human comprehension with a Love that defies the logic of man and works on a plain of understanding that boggles the mind! You are safe! You can rest in the knowledge that it’s Not your actions that created any of this it Is All the Finished work of The One Who created All things and keeps All things in motion! You are Forgiven of All your past! Your Future is secure in the knowledge of His Great Love and in the present you are Not under the law and you are FREE!
When you Rest in this knowledge, when you begin to open yourself up to this realization and this understanding – Peace begins to reign in your heart and soul and healing of pain begins!
My fervent prayer for you and all who read this is that This Christmas will start this road of Rest in Who He Is, What He Did and who you are in Him!
