Jesus had compassion – Not the need to prove Himself! This is what is so lacking in the world today!

Compassion! Unearned, unmerited and no possible way of paying it back – just plain Compassion! What is the one position needed in the kingdom Always:

LOVERS WANTED!!

Why did Christ need “workers”?

What was the situation surrounding His call for people to work?

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” – Matthew 9:36-38

Jesus didn’t call for workers to force people to be like them or to get them to their narrow minded group of friends or force change on them like the Grand Inquisition! “He had compassion” on the crowds because “they were being harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

What does this mean?

It means Jesus needs and seeks Lovers NOT Law-ers!

The people in this situation already had entire groups of Law-ers. People who would make sure they followed every single jot and tittle and each letter of the law- that is why “they were harassed and helpless.”

This is why “Christ is the end of the law for all who believe.” Now that Christ has made the ultimate sacrifice He needs the ultimate Lovers! Just like He was the ultimate Lover He seeks to create that in you and He can and will do that if you allow Him.

Here is a meditation for you and I hope you will find a way to continue to practice it for a lifetime. Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and just take a few moments to relax. Take several deep breathes and close your eyes and just be still and know that He is God. Once you feel a bit more relaxed go back to breathing normally and:

Breathe in and say:

Lord Love

Breathe out and say:

Through me

Practice this for a lifetime and see what God will do!

The need for “more” will always leave you feeling helpless because you will never have enough.
