Two different trees, two different fruits with Very different results and yet so many similarities. This is one of the things that makes the Mystery of God so fascinating. He can use that which looks terrible to Be that which is So Very Amazing and that which looks so good to be that which is so terrible.
“The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” – Genesis 3:2-3
One of the primary keys to the message of Christ and that which made Him so dangerous was that appearances mean Nothing to God. The tree may be in the middle of the garden, have the most beautiful fruit in the world and be calling your name but that doesn’t make it good. At the same time the tree may be old and rugged with blood stains on it but the tree set us Free!
This is a spiritual rule that goes against the norms of religiousity and dives head long into Grace which is sufficient for each and every one of us IF we only believe. The struggle we have is that the world says look good and the heart doesn’t matter, but God says the motives of the heart are Everything. This is why the law is so important – the law makes it so I see my need for the second tree, the one that Jesus hung on to pay for All my sins, take away the law from my life because Faith in Him makes me Righteous and show Everyone a little of the depth of Gods Radical, Indescribable, Eternal and Unconditional LOVE for each of us!
