Does spirituality have a plan for mental health?
What is drunkenness?
“You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:5-6
Here is a plan for mental health in a nutshell – Live Loving!
That is what Jesus did; and while that was the opposite of the religious leaders then it is still the same of religious leaders today – rules, regulations and at like they do!
Religion can be just as good if not better than alcohol for getting people drunk. When a person is drunk on anything they are finding a way to deal with their pain OTHER than letting go and giving it to God.
To be sober is this- Live Loving!
To go through life asleep is to have pain and find ways to mask the pain and to continue to mask and re-mask the pain by any and all possible ways.
To Live Loving is to be a child of the Light for a very simple reason- God is Love!!
I know that many have done bad things and caused others to do things in the name of God- but that’s not Jesus!
The life of Jesus is a life of Love up to a hill side of blood that created the single greatest gift man will ever know- a relationship with God that eliminates the need for us to hide pain because He bore the pain all on His shoulders!
Here is a meditation for you and I pray it will bless your life. Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and take a moment or two to take some deep breathes, focus on here and now and with every exhale relax a bit more as you are in the palm of His mighty hand. Once you feel His palm holding you and you are resting there:
Breathe in and say:
“God let me Be”
Breathe out and say:
“A child of Light”
Practice like this until you feel Him take away the need for anything other than the desire to live loving as that is living a Godly life!

Thanks for the reminder of God’s grace upon us.
Thank you brother!
