What is the journey you are on?
What is the goal of your journey?
Could your journey itself be causing you pain?
“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.” – 1 Peter 1:5-7
Grace IS the journey!
Faith is the starting point and Love is the finish line. But everything is done through God’s effort and not our own.
For me “make every effort” means turn to Him in order to understand the reason for the current educational opportunity.
Here is an example: My wife is angry at me for something I did so I get angry back over something from last week. This causes a bigger divide, more upset and less goodness. What if instead I asked a simple question?
“God how do You seek to use this present moment to teach, heal and love?”
Journey in, not out and many of the problems you face will heal many more people around you to include yourself!
By accepting what is here and now and making the journey in me instead of out of me I am making every effort- Here is the key once you ask the question above- Listen for that still small voice that seeks to create more Love in the world! Remember Love is the goal!!
Here is a little contemplative meditation to take with you today. Write this on a piece of paper and keep it where you will see it throughout the day. As God brings it to mind, and He will just stop and think on these words and then listen for the answer to:
“God how do You seek to use this present moment to teach, heal and love?”
Practice this until you begin to hear His Voice – The Voice of Love – during those difficult moments.
Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
Thanks so much for your emails.
Yes, I think, that with Faith + Love = Heal.
And everything else will be added.
Am I right ?
Beautifully said sister!
Faith in Christ and let His Love lead the way!
