satan is All about keeping you handicapped – spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially! Jesus came to set the captive Free and you and I are completely captive by that which makes us handicapped! For my whole young adult life I learned that what satan wanted me to do was break the law – but I am not longer under the law – why should he care? What satan wants most is you in pain and that can happen in a myriad of ways!
Donkey or Soul – which do you choose?
“The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?” – Luke 13:15-16
There is that crazy trouble maker Jesus again thinking of souls first and law second!
This is why the people Loved Him and indeed flocked to Him. He got it! He was all about His Fathers work and that work was Love!
All the religious leaders would think of their asses and oxen and whatever would bring them gain – but souls that were hurting and in need – well they better fit into this legal framework because for them the law was the only way to get to God!
No wonder Jesus just up and pretty well ticked off every single religious person there was – and He still does today!
Jesus was about His Fathers business and His Father was, is and always will Be All about Love! Get over it or get a different god!
If that sounds unloving – yep it pretty well is – I have heard the legalistic path to God for a long time and I have seen what it does to people, people like the lady in this story – And I wont sit quietly, idly by and let another friend be buried because of a legalist!
At some point you have to choose between what profits you (your donkey or ass), what makes you look good to the outside Or what creates a New Being – Jesus!
Keep this in mind as you make your choice – whatever it is that comforts you, that you have security in be it your works, your church or your money – is already your god! And oh by the way it’s killing you and hurting others!
Sound too strong? Ask the lady who for 18 long years had waited to be unbound but couldn’t because the religious leaders instead of having their head on Love had it on asses!
Love! Love and when you have, Love some more! People didn’t follow Jesus because He taught some new morality or way to live the 10 commandments! They followed Him because in Him they found the Love of God!
