Jesus – the boat rocker (Part 6)

Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed man had been cured. Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left.” – Luke 8:36-37

The Love and Acceptance and Healing of Jesus are almost always rejected by the status quo!

Why?

Because as humans we listen to the devil of comfort in exchange for the satan of survival instead of accepting the Amazing Grace that God so freely gives!

It’s very comfortable to have the bad guys, the bad things and the fortress of our church walls to insulate us and tell us that everything is ok if we just shut up and color! Things proceed at the way we were always told they should and some day when we die because we went to this building and said the right thing at the right time – God will smile us and let us into the pearly gates!

But whatever you do – DON’T rock the boat! Don’t say or do something against the norm or think that the Love of God might extend beyond the boundaries of your limited community. After all you did that mission trip for a week in that very hot, nasty disgusting place so the bonus points should really add up now!

What am I saying? Am I trying to be a condemnation giver?

NO! I am just saying that the Love of God is far beyond any boundary or reach we could imagine! So what if your church doesn’t have a ministry to the hookers or the homeless – start one! So what if the smell of some of the people you share with makes some people ill – tell them to get over it and drive on!

The Love of Jesus and The Light of His Being will leave in any place where even the least of these are Not welcome with open arms! That IS the Love of God and that IS the Love He wants us to share!

God’s expectations on us are NONE! So why do we put the burden of expectations on others?

God Loves us as we are and that kind of Love will make many very uncomfortable – see His Love as far beyond anything human and you will begin to see all those He created as equally precious in His sight as you are!
