Jesus rocks the boat – (Part 3)
“They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. Now the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man’s eyes was a Sabbath. Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. “He put mud on my eyes,” the man replied, “and I washed, and now I see.” – John 9:13-15
For Jesus then and now ALL that mattered was you!
Let me say that again to make this perfectly clear ALL that mattered to Jesus – then and Now is you!
Until a person gets this basic truth of the gospel down they are nothing more than a clanging gong of religion begging others to follow the regimen that they follow in the hopes that it is the one that makes God smile on them!
Here is the deal – Faith in God and Love for ALL – that’s ALL that makes God smile!
Why?
Because this way your boasting is no good, your rest is in the only One that can truly Be ALL you need and your focus is LOVE!
There is a very simple reason why Christ preferred the company of “sinners”, whores, pimps and basically the dirtiest of all humanity – they were real!
The religious, pious, self-righteous who couldn’t see God’s handiwork if it bit them on the backside still exist – they are sitting in their self-proclaimed holy places keeping out the homosexuals, hookers and others who are far more like Christ than they are!
Jesus rocked the boat in many ways but I find this way the most telling of Grace – He cared more for the person than the law – He saw the law for what it was created and intended for – the instrument that would provide the condemnation needed so that a person would see the need for Christ!
