A spiritual idiot is the one that tells me they know exactly who god is and how he will act and what he wants – to them I say – your god is too small! Jesus Christ turned the world upside down! Jesus Christ was, is and always will be a take no prisoners kind of Lover! He was, is and always will be strange to the human concept of Love and justice – and That is a Great thing!
Why is Being strange a good thing?
What made Jesus strange?
“But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.” – Luke 22:26-27
Jesus was and is strange!
Why?
He turned the world upside down and continues to do that because He taught things like:
1) Love and forgive even your enemy
2) Serve others not for your gain but because you Love them
3) Rest in me and not your ability, effort or your own goodness
4) Children and poor people are closer to the kingdom of God than adults and rich people
Jesus came as a servant. He had no problem washing feet or serving in any way to show others that He Loved them with a Love that they had never known before.
If Jesus is our example what does that show us?
Herein for me lays the problem with half law Christians that judge people- It’s not your job or position to do that!
We know that Jesus left a whole lot of people saying, “Hey what the camels’ breath is this guy about?”
Here is a way to start getting in touch with the Love of God. Find a time and a place where you will probably not be disturbed. Start by taking several deep breaths and with every exhale relax as best you are able. Make up your mind that the next few moments you will focus on His Love and really rest in His presence. Now just breathe normally and:
Breathe in and say:
“You give me Peace”
Breathe out and say:
“You Love me”
Breathe in and say:
“You Forgive All”
Breathe out and say:
“You Love me”
Breathe in and say:
“You serve”
Breathe out and say:
“You Love me”
Practice in this way and add what God has done for you. Make this your own recognition time of how Amazing His Love is for you.
