Why didn’t Jesus spend more time talking about how to keep the law?
“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” – Luke 10:28
Jesus = Life!
Yes it really is just that simple and in this short devotional I will show you why.
No one ever Loved on command! Love cannot be mandated, forced or coerced and be real in any way, shape or form – this is why religion is so damaging to a relationship with God!
“Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” – Matthew 22:37
Love – True Love like this comes from the growth of and the expanding knowledge of the immensity of The Gift of Christ! The more you grow in the awareness that He took away ALL your guilt and shame – not just the past but also the future – by taking away the law, “Christ is the end of the law for ALL who believe!” – the more you grasp this the greater your Love for Him – Real Love, True Love – will grow like a weed in a field full of fertilizer!
“And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” – Matthew 22:39
Love your neighbor and fulfill ALL the law and the prophets – this was stated in another place by Christ but the real question is, what is Love for your neighbor, what does it look like?
That depends on the situation but I will tell you this – this grows as you grasp the Value of Christ and the cross as well! How? Because as you see the pain in others over guilt, shame and condemnation and as you grow in the realization of where to go to leave all that satanic crap behind – you grow in a desire to help others see the Freedom, Grace, Joy, Peace and Extreme LOVE of ABBA!
“Do this and you will live.” – isn’t a command, it’s an invitation!

Bob I do not understand the necessity for Jesus’ commandment on love. In my experience, love has grown without me doing anything. Why couldn’t he have just said this, and avoided confusion? Rod
Great question Rod – I think much of the reason Jesus masked things was that in the law there is a very clear statement that
anyone teaching what He was really there for and anyone saying the change that He was saying was to be killed – Jesus knew that
it wasn’t His time yet and as a result He was completely forthcoming about who He was. The people of that day and before were
looking for the wrong kind of Savior – they all expected a physical strongman – Rambo from God if you will – part of the message of Christ was to say that the physical and the temporary struggle of here and now really melts into the background if the spiritual and
Love for others is your primary motivator.
Thank you again for sharing!
