Jesus and the Big Finale!
“He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” – Luke 21:8-9
What did Jesus know about the end?
So many people talking about “the end times” and creating fear and panic but what did Jesus know and say about the Bid Finale?
Jesus knew and knows man better than man knows himself! As such Jesus knew that that man has an insatiable need and craving for MORE! In fact more is the biggest god man worships – but more isn’t The God!
What does the god of more look like:
1) The god of more created the current global environmental situation – we have to have more power, money and things so we sold out our future for the god of more.
2) The god of more wants us to seek more of every-thing and in so doing we forget about Love for every-one! This is the opposite of what Christ taught with His very life and death.
3) The god of more wants us to focus on having rightness instead of Being His child and depending on His Holiness. This way we miss Him altogether but we have the comfort of a church pew and the idea that we are right and everyone else is wrong.
So what did Jesus know would happen? Exactly what is happening – LOL!
Nations in their rightness are turning against nations and many are claiming to have rightness and in His name they are creating a climate of fear for profit. Most have forgotten about the hurting and mask their own pain with more – more stuff, more knowledge, more religion – you name it – the god of more has it!
God – The God of Grace and Peace is not about more – He is about less. He set it up this way and in the passage above Jesus even says so – less fear! Why? Because perfect Love drives out fear and as we grow and learn how much He Loves us – that Love will grow in us and shine through us! This is why we are no longer under the law – the law demands MORE! God says, “My Grace is sufficient for you my child. Come to me and rest in my Love for you.”

I can relate with this. By grace alone we are saved. Not by anything we’ve done or said. Not by any of our merits. All have fallen short, not a one is righteous. God’s grace and unfailing love covers all that. Amen.
AMEN brother – and by Grace we live in the present awareness that He has reconciled us to God – we are no longer under the law – we are now and forever more a part of Him Who made us and keeps us in His tender Love and care! Thank you for sharing brother!
How can we seek to improve our life an our knowledge without ending up worshiping the God of more?
Great question Amy and thank you for sharing!
In short we don’t! You are as perfect as you will be once Christ comes into you and makes you a new creation – ALL things become new.
There is still growth but that growth is in seeing His Love more clearly which creates an attitude of gratefulness that changes a person.
A journey with Christ was never meant to be about our effort (following the law) it was, is and always will be a deeper understanding of
His miraculous Gift that He gave and as that understanding grows our capacity to shine that Love grows. In short apart from Christ I can
do nothing!
