Do you have dope in your soap?
Are you tired of being a thief yet?
What happened to you?
“And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” – 1 Corinthians 6:11
Why are the words “washed”, “sanctified and justified” in the past tense? Do you keep them that way or do you try to bathe yourself again and again?
Many Christians have dope in their soap – they rely on what they do each weekend or each day to forgive them or get them closer to God – but that isn’t how it works!
Jesus Christ died once and for all for all sin!
To say anything different robs God of His power, you of your relationship with Him and the joy it could bring you and it robs the people you meet of seeing a saint who is at total Peace in each moment!
To say that you can become somehow unwashed, unsanctified or unjustified is to make God out to be a weakling and the cross of Christ to be nothing more than a footnote in history!
To rely on your security, pleasure or power for your bath is to rest your entire future on Never being washed in His mighty blood!
Here is a challenge for you. Find a time early in the morning or just before bed for the next few weeks in a place where you probably won’t be disturbed. To illustrate when I first did this I was in a bunk in Iraq as soon as I got up I just kept my eyes closed so no one would bother me. It’s best if you can sit up, close your eyes and start by relaxing and Being Here and Now in your head. Relax as best you can and just:
Breathe in and say:
“I am Washed”
Breathe out and say:
“In His blood”
Breathe in and say:
“I am Sanctified”
Breathe out and say:
“By His cross”
Breathe in and say:
“I am Justified”
Breathe out and say:
“By His death”
Practice this until you can see that He alone gives you confidence before Almighty God!
Nice. Simple, but effective. Thanks Bob! Blessings.
Thank you Mary – Blessing to you as well!
Amen, Bob! I just hate to think how many times Jesus would have had to do the walk up the hill, and the cross because people don’t know what the Word says. Thankfully once is enough.
Blessings,
Marsha
Thank you very much sister! Amen – If Jesus wasnt enough to finish the job – we are all pretty much in deep trouble!
Bless you Marsha!
yes!
let’s stop asking Christ Jesus for forgiveness and just start thanking him for it.
we ARE forgiven and ARE NOW ALIVE! we don’t GET forgiven he did that for us while we were yet sinners.
Amen! YES – Most Christians spend their entire life looking for something they already have – FORGIVENESS! PEACE! and FREEDOM!
Praise God – His Grace IS sufficient for me!
