Do you know what will happen to you today?
If I could tell you with 100% certainty what your future held could you rest?
Please read Acts 12:5-10
Vs. 5 “So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance.
Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him.
Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.”
Grace and the belief that God is in complete control go hand in hand- they are inseparable!
If we follow Grace and the idea that God is in complete control, does it have an affect on our peace even if we break the law?
From what I can see it has a huge affect as long as we broke the law to share Love.
Which is more important the law or Love?
Ask Dietrich Bonheoffer that question. There are those who are perhaps best defined by the people who want to kill them and this man is one of them.
If you live in a way to put fact over faith will you ever have peace?
I hope you will take a moment to really meditate on the question above because it goes to the heart of a person who would have to be slapped upside the head to be rescued from what could have been his last night on earth.
Here was Peter who with all the reasonable facts staring him in the face that it was his last night on earth he still managed to need to be “struck” on the side of the head to be woke up.
What does that tell you about faith over fact?
He was chained between two guards and had sentries posted to make sure that the next day he would see one of the cruelest leaders of the day who wanted to make a show of executing him so his public approval ratings would increase.
Peter wasnt basing his life on the facts around him but instead in the faith that God had everything in control long before it got to this point.
Would he die the next day? God knew he didnt. The facts pointed one way but faith points toward Love always. And the great thing about pointing in that direction is that even though it might not seem like it at the time “LOVE NEVER FAILS”
Does that mean you will never be killed for loving?
It didnt work for Bonheoffer after all so therefore God must be fake right?
Have you ever considered that every single one of us is going to die but if we live for LOVE the message and the affects of that LOVE go on and on.
Has it ever occurred to you that there are many things worse than death like living in fear and depression for never being true to LOVE?
Dont worry Be Grace-Full
