With Jesus every step He took and every thing He did, said and breath He took has a valuable lesson in it! He not only came to remove condemnation and cleanse us of our sin – but He came to teach us how to Live! Really Live! Life Abundant is Here and Now! Accepting that Life Abundant is a matter of choice on your part – Lets look at some questions and keys to that Abundant Life!
Is non-forgiveness tied to self-condemnation?
“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” – Matthew 6:12
If we fail the law in the smallest part we are guilty of breaking the whole law, right?
If we don’t forgive the debt or wrongs done to us therefore how can we feel fully forgiven by God?
Perhaps this is a point where you feel distant from God? It was for me for a very long time. I never could figure out why I was so hard on myself until I realized through the power of God and meditation how hard I was on others.
No one understands the human psyche like the one who created it and in this part of the “How to pray” guide by Jesus of Nazareth we see the healing power of forgiveness.
In whatever amount we bring His kingdom to earth we will have His kingdom within us. His kingdom is about Love, Forgiveness, Peace and Righteousness based on Grace. The more of these things that we release here the more it is released within us.
This is why Grace is so very important. Grace says that at the moment we accept Jesus ALL things become new and we are no longer under the law which causes guilt and judgment. When we become a “new creation” our lives revolve around this, “Love God and Love others.”
Here is a meditation for you. Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and take several deep cleansing breaths. With each exhalation relax the muscles in your face a bit more and give Him your stress a bit more.
When you feel a bit less stressed go back to breathing normally, gently close your eyes and begin to get a picture of you with Jesus under a waterfall of forgiveness that is washing away all the guilt and shame you feel. As you sit there begin to invite people who have done you wrong to sit with you and Jesus. Let His waterfall of forgiveness wash you and this person who has done you wrong. As you get this picture and feel secure in it:
Breathe in and say:
Breathe out and say:
“Teach me to forgive”
Practice this until you feel forgiveness for the person or persons under the waterfall. His blood washes us all!
Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!
