Meditations for growing Faith
Faith the size of a mustard seed will move the mountain of hurt and pain that has been in your life in an instant. But how do we grow in Faith beyond the moment of believing in His name? How do we Rest in the storm Knowing spiritually that He is at the helm of our ship?
The Bible tells us that without Faith it’s impossible to please God and for a very simple reason, Faith allows complete Rest in what He has done, is doing and will do in every moment of our life. Does that Faith meet obstacles and challenges? YES! Even Jesus had a moment of doubt or question about Gods path for Him.
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6
Who Is God? God Is Love! To earnestly seek God, earnestly seek Love.
Seeking Love for all Is the journey and from what I have seen its the journey of a lifetime. This journey takes Faith and for me I follow a mantra style meditation practice at times to remind me again about Who God Is, What He has done and how He Is God. The children of Israel in the desert were constantly needing to be reminded of these same things but this is how I do it and I find its especially good at rough patches in life.
Find a time and a place that is quiet and you probably won’t be disturbed. Sitting with a good posture in a comfortable chair is one good way but I have also done this in a bunk while being mortared and in a bunker while snipers were being tracked down – (Great places for Faith to grow by the way).
When you have the time and place close your eyes gently and take several deep breaths as you relax and begin to breathe in and out through your nose repeat any and all of the phrases below that work for you.
Breathe in and say:
“I have Faith”
Breathe out and say:
“He Loves me”
Breathe in and say:
“I have Faith”
Breathe out and say:
“He forgave me”
Breathe in and say:
“I have Faith”
Breathe out and say:
“He is With me”
Breathe in and say:
“I have Faith”
Breathe out and say:
“He is For me”
Breathe in and say:
“I have Faith”
Breathe out and say:
“He Is my Rock”
What part of God do you need to grow Faith in – focus on that and visualize The God Who Is Love beyond human comprehension there with you as you practice this.
I pray this practice over time helps you. Remember it’s a Journey of a lifetime!
