What do the dead worry about?
Please read Colossians 3:2-4
Vs. 2 “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
Have you ever seen a dead man worry?
Have you ever seen a dead man afraid?
There is a reason why we say “Rest In Peace” and here it is – there is little peace in life and in fact no peace without training our mind.
To train the mind from the constant bombardment of stuff we hear, see and get shoved down our throat on a daily basis first we need to see what “earthly things” are.
Anything that is about fear, worry, hate, ego, self or bitterness is an earthly thing AND as much as I can I want to control the bombardment by:
1) Seeing the source of it in my life – TV news, magazines, music, religious organizations or friends can all contribute to where the mind is at.
2) Getting rid of the source – How much is it worth to you to have mental Peace that passes all understanding? Whatever you want your mind to be one you have to be willing to pay the price?
3) Meditate and focus on the Life source – Jesus and know that He is Here and Now and Being in you for the purpose of bringing good to your life.
Here are a couple of meditations for you try them and see how they work for you:
Just stop what you are doing and take a couple of deep breathes and then when you are a bit more relaxed:
Breathe in and say:
“He is in me”
Breathe out and say:
“And it’s All good”
Practice this when you need to remember that whatever is coming into your life and the world right now- it passed by Him and He said it was ok.
Breathe in and say:
“Set my mind on”
Breathe out and say:
“Love“,” Joy“, “Peace“, “Hope“, “Goodness”
Practice this when you need to remember what to focus on and you see fear or thoughts of stress coming on. Go through each word you need and skip some or make it a regular practice to go through each word for a certain period of time – its up to you but God will bless you in it!
