Opening the heart to Grate-Fullness!

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” – Ephesians 1:15-16

Want to open the heart to Grate-Fullness? Would you like to find a way out of the gloom and grey world that at times encompasses you?

Each morning I have a choice to make and most mornings thank God – I get up early and meditate. This morning was no exception and in keeping with the devotional theme this week I changed my meditation a bit.

This is what I did – I thanked God for each and every person, place, event, thing and anything else that He brought to mind. Before I show you exactly what that looks like let me give you some general meditation instructions:

Find a quiet time and place where you probably won’t be disturbed but if you are remember He is the Lord of all and allowed it to happen and return to this quiet place and moment as soon as you can. Sitting upright with your feet flat on the floor do a couple of deep shrugs of the shoulders and take a couple of deep breathes and without too much effort – relax in a comfortable position and:

Breathe in and say:

Thank you God for

Breathe out and say:

_______________

Breathe in and say:

Thank you God for

Breathe out and say:

________________

Practice this way 5 minutes or 3 hours and don’t limit yourself to just those things that are obvious – Everything comes from Him and through Him – even those moments some people call “bad” – so Thank Him for everything!

Start with the obvious and work your way to what some might call curses – here is a partial list of mine: “Cat (my wife)”, “Hero (my dog)”, “my mom”, “my refrigerator”, “Anne (person who dislikes me)”, “the pain (in my body)”, “each of the teeth on my knife” (it helped me cut my food that I ate).

Just start and the more you practice this the more you will see His Amazingness and Be Grate-Full in your heart and soul!
