“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” – 2 Corinthians 9:15
The greater I know God’s gift of His Son to be the more thankfulness grows in me like a fountain of Love overflowing.
This is a basic principle of Grace and the new covenant that Christ came to establish so that you and I could have direct access to God – Through His gift NOT our works!
Why do I stress this last part? Simply put a lightning bolt coming to punish you never made anyone Grate-Full – but His Love sure does!
This is not “God saved me from Hell in the future Hooray!” mentality – No, this is a gift for here and now and it cannot be described it is so wonderful. This is not a “God saved me now I must work hard to change” mentality – No, this is a relationship based on Love and His Love compels us to grow as He sees fit!
As we come more and more into the knowledge of His gift and His Grace and His Great Love for us – Gratitude flows out in several ways:
1) We are able to Graciously accept that each of His creations are different – Love grows because He shows us that He created each of us individually.
2) We are able to Graciously accept we are no longer under the burden of the law – Grace grows as we become less focused on the law which brought us to Christ and more focused on the Love that sustains us.
3) We are able to Graciously accept that He has us right where we need to Be – Life grows abundant Here and Now and as a result people are drawn to that Peace.
Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and just take a couple of deep breaths, shrug your shoulders really big and relax. Once you are a bit more relaxed close your eyes and just:
Breathe in and say:
“Thank you God”
Breathe out and say:
“For Your Gift”
Practice this for a while and if you want to see His Gift imagine Christ on the cross – that Is the greatest Gift and Love ever given.
