What are you talking about?

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” – Mark 5:18-19

Either Jesus wasn’t very bright and just missed a great opportunity to say “go tell people to do a better job” Or He was setting this man and countless others on a new path to God!

We all have demons, we all have problems and difficulties – Grace allows God to end them, heal them and vanquish them once and for ALL – the victory is done!

By fulfilling the law, by Being the “end of the law for All who believe” Jesus in His Perfect sacrifice made forever clean that which could never find reconciliation to God under the law – you and me!

We were hopeless, helpless and Hell bent for destruction! By law we didn’t nor could we ever have a leg to stand on – but then came Jesus and ALL that changed!

Jesus had just healed this demon possessed  man who had spent his whole possessed life running through a grave yard, cutting himself and being what we would clinically call “one crazy hellion!”

The man wanted to follow Jesus and go where ever He went but Jesus told him, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” This is Grace!

I was never truly Thankful under the law and if you are honest neither were you or are you! This is why so many religious people have so much difficulty and why people outside don’t want to follow Jesus – dishonesty from those who say they follow Him!

The healing of Jesus for you and for me is right Here and Right Now! I am Thankful for being saved from the Hell of not Being in His Kingdom the moment I accept Him because I am reconciled to Him! No more law, legal entanglements or estrangements from The God Who IS Love!

If you have grasped Grace I encourage you to think not about building a kingdom Here and Now or trying to fill a church pew – If you get Grace you will want to, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”

Array on Grace-speak!

  1. rfullerworks says:

As I understand it, to not believe in God is to be under the curse of illness. I try to explain this to my son who has mental illness but it hasn’t brought him to God. My eldest son has been saved but still has a chronic pain disorder which we don’t understand. How do you make sense of the lack of healing among the saved? Rod

    • Bob Hildreth says:

      Great question Rod!
In short I think we are healed exactly as we should be the moment we accept Christ! For whatever reason He made me with certain “blessings” and others with different “blessings” – once we see the physical or psychological or whatever human abnormality as His blessing to further the work of God or the work of Love the abnormality doesn’t go away – we just have Peace with it – Peace that passes All understanding is what it has worked out to for me!
I hope that helps- its not an easy road – I know I am “different” but I am the vessel He made me into and I rejoice now and I am glad in it!

  2. rfullerworks says:

The problem with your approach is it isn’t what the bible says. It says,”by his stripes I am healed”and “He heals me of all my diseases.” Rod

    • Bob Hildreth says:

Thanks Rod – I have never read where the Bible says “He heals me of All physical diseases” could you give me the passage on that?
His stripes do heal and place me in a permanent relationship with God – that is healing beyond mere physical.

  3. rfullerworks says:

Yes Bob. Psalm 103:3, Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases. Why do you want to exclude physical healing from what Jesus achieved on the cross? I have witnessed such healing. Rod

    • Bob Hildreth says:

Rod I am not excluding anything its just that saying words like “all” almost always sets you up to not being able to see God.
God Is Love but His Love doesn’t look like human love a great deal of the time. There is very, very little that we can say God Always does this a certain way. Last I checked all the disciples were dead – why is that if all physical disease is healed? As I read this passage as a hymn for me its not about all physical ailments of all who believe being healed its about when an ailment is healed giving Him the Glory and knowing that it came from Him. I could be wrong but that is my impression – I know for a fact that He wants some people to live with certain illnesses and die from them as that allows people who have never heard of Him to see Him. Again just my thoughts.

  4. rfullerworks says:

Yes Bob, the only way I can understand this is to believe we each have a destiny given to us by God which includes things like miraculous healing. What do you think about this? Rod

    • Bob Hildreth says:

Can miraculous healing happen – Yes absolutely! Does it happen all the time? No – so I find a greater healing in this – pray, accept what is and rest in that the way it is, is how He wants it. This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it.

  5. rfullerworks says:

Thank you Bob. I believe that God wants are all healed but we also have the free will to block God’s will through lack of understanding of his ways. That’s why I seek to understand his ways.

    • Bob Hildreth says:

Thank you for sharing Rod – one questions are you telling me if you have more or you are better more healing will happen then? Because that sounds a lot like a works based ideology – doesn’t it?

  6. rfullerworks says:

    No, just fate.
